Have you ever heard of a wildlife overpass? I spoke with Doug Nintzel, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) spokesman, about the new wildlife overpass. He told me that a wildlife overpass is a large bridge that goes over highways to help prevent crashes involving wildlife. The overpass will be on I-17, twelve miles south of Flagstaff, at milepost 327.4. The overpass will be 100 feet wide and will be covered in native vegetation; this will help it blend in with nature. It will have 8-foot tall fencing for about 8 miles, this will help direct the animals.
“A Minecraft Movie” has been a big hit for the box office. This movie stars Jennifer Coolidge, Jack Black, and many more famous entertainers. The budget for this movie was around 150 million dollars, and in the U.S alone, it has made over 280 million dollars. On the day of this writing, this movie has made over $550,000,000!
Have you ever been to the San Diego Zoo? If not, here are some of the cool things I saw on my recent trip.
The first thing I suggest is to ride the double-decker tour bus. By riding the bus you can see many of the animals, so you know which ones you want to go and spend more time with.
Do you want to save money for your child’s educational needs, but need help learning where to start? Well, let me introduce you to 529 plans; an educational savings plan designed to provide a parent, grandparent, or anyone else an opportunity to contribute to a child’s educational dreams using a tax-advantaged savings vehicle. Today, it is known as a “Qualified Tuition Program” or QTP. In 1996, the 529 plan was created by the United States Congress and has been modified by various pieces of legislation through the years.
I recently interviewed the local author of the Nurse Florence children’s book series. Michael Dow is a registered nurse. He has written every book in this series. According to Dow, Nurse Florence is a book series that helps kids learn more about their bodies and how they work, while also honoring the historic champion of the nursing profession, Florence Nightingale. Dow has an extensive collection of Florence Nightingale memorabilia, including a first edition of “Notes On Nursing,” published in 1860.
One of my favorite places I’ve ever been to in Arizona is the Petrified Forest National Park, which is just off of historic Route 66. In 1857, the United States government hired E. F. Veale to build a wagon road from Fort Defiance, New Mexico to the Colorado River. Beale experimented with using a Camel Corps to build the road.
The Petrified Forest is part of a natural travel corridor that has been used for over 10,000 years, and modern humans travel a similar path.
