I recently interviewed Nancy Pina-Gray, a retired teacher from our school district who is running for the Roosevelt School Board to learn more about her candidacy.

Pina-Gray says she wants to join the school board to help make things better for the students. She explains that the school board makes the decisions on how money is spent and what programs are available to students.

We took a four-day trip to Fort Worth, Texas. We left Tucson at 5 p.m. and we got there at 8:40 a.m. In Fort Worth, the time is 3 hours ahead, so in Arizona time we got there at 5:40 a.m.

We stayed in a hotel called Best Western. It was a very fun and clean hotel. We got to meet relatives that haven’t seen me since I was just 1.

Nature has a funny way of doing things! Sometimes it might be a freaky forest or a crazy mountaintop. But have you ever seen some freaky animals before? Be prepared to see animals that you don’t see every day.

The seven-legged lamb: This crazy lamb was found in 2007. It is said that he suffered from a misprint in the embryo formation.

The two-headed snake: This is my worst nightmare. This snake suffers from polycephaly, meaning having more than one head, and despite how scary it is, it is fairly common.

Attention all space fans! The NASA Goddard Space Flight Center has launched a new kid’s magazine called NASA Next! It was created for kids in grades 5–8. The magazine breaks down science and space to a kid’s level. It is only available online. You can download the latest issue for free on any device. Kids can tell their teachers about the NASA Next Educators page so they can learn more about space and science in the classroom. The first issue was presented on May 23, 2016, and the fall issue has already been released.

Welcome to the Hall of Flame Museum! This museum and the National Firefighter Hall of Heroes is located in Phoenix. The museum has almost an acre of fire history exhibits and is sponsored by the National Historical Fire Foundation. George F. Getz Jr. founded the museum

in 1961. Exhibits include 130 wheeled pieces and thousands of smaller artifacts. There are “hands on” exhibits for children. A special exhibit is now on display
