Recently I attended a Bear Essential News Zoom meeting and met Sarah Murphy who is currently one of the managers of the Tucson Comic-Con. Murphy talked about how she was really excited about Tucson Comic-Con coming back after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic.
This spring, I watched the movie ”The Bad Guys” at the cinema. Originally a book series written by Aaron Blabey and made up of 16 books, The Bad Guys have been put onto the big screen! The film was released on April 22, 2022. The movie is now available on digital, Blu-ray and DVD.
Watching the movie will not spoil anything if you want to read the book after you watch the movie—or the other way around—as the movie does not follow many of the book’s plot points.
Do you like to build cars and have races? Then your excitement for this activity will continue to build as you experience the new LEGO Ferrari Build and Race attraction. It opened at LEGOland California Resort in May.
I interviewed Adam “Crack” Winrich at the Renaissance Festival. He does shows involving whips as well as fire.
Adam Crack practices two to three hours a day and has broken more than one world record, including the loudest whip crack. He got his first whip when he was about 7 or 8 years old. He says that the most dangerous thing about the job is risking cutting your skin open with a whip, especially with fire.
It was really entertaining to interview Adam Crack and I want to go to the Arizona Renaissance Festival again.
On March 25, eight Monster Jam trucks lined up, ready to race at the Tucson Convention Center. The floor of the arena was converted to a dirt course. The trucks waited for the go sign, and they were off! The blaring noise of fans cheering deafened the piercing roar of monster truck wheels. The smell of gasoline and burned rubber tickled my nose and fi lled the arena. It sure was a sight to see!
The Renaissance Festival has a long history of hosting weird and wacky shows. The first fair started in California in 1962, and was originally planned as a fundraiser for a local radio station. The fair ended up being more successful than the team that founded it intended, which is why the Renaissance Festival is still around today, staging events around the world. Each fair now boasts over a quarter of a million visitors every year and generates around $2 million.
Well met, my Lords and Ladies! I had so much fun when I went to the opening weekend of the 34th Renaissance Festival and Artisan Marketplace. The Renaissance Festival has a 16-stage theatre, a 50-acre circus, and an arts and crafts fair with over 200 artisans.
Disney is known for always making amazing movies, but this might just be my favorite. On Nov. 24, 2021, Disney released “Encanto,” an animated movie about a family in Columbia which receives magical powers. Mirabel, the youngest child, doesn’t receive magical powers, but it’s up to her to save her family and their powers.
If you have not watched “Hotel Transylvania 4: Transformania,” you should. I highly suggest it. In this comedy the monsters are back, but not how they used to be. Say hello to change because these crazy monsters really get caught up in a mess when they turn themselves into humans!
This movie stars Selena Gomez as Mavis and Adam Samberg as Johnny. I would definitely rate this movie a four and a half out of 5. One of my favorite parts is when Johnny is a giant monster and Mavis still calls him “sweetie.”
In January, I auditioned for the play “The Prince And The Pauper, A Musical” at East Valley Children’s Theatre (EVCT). It is the story of two young boys, a prince, and a pauper, who look amazingly alike. They meet by chance and accidentally swap spots! Neither of them is quite sure what to do outside of their usual lives so, of course, chaos ensues!
