The Magna Carta was a document that was signed by King John of England as a peace treaty between him and people who rebelled against him. Harvard Law School is believed to have an incredibly rare copy of the Magna Carta. It was from the 14th century, and the actual Magna Carta was written in the 13th century.
Nicolas Vincent discovered that Harvard Law School had this rare copy in 2014. Vincent wanted to find all the remaining copies of the Magna Carta for its 800th anniversary. He found a reference that told him that one of the Magna Carta copies was located in the Harvard Law School Library.
This copy is very rare because it is one of only a few documents that survived from that time period.
