Have you ever wanted to take your gaming and playing to the next level? Experience never before seen games and interactive technology with Activate, located in Paradise Valley.
This location has recently opened with multiple locations opening across the U.S. Activate first started in Canada and it became popular and now has many locations around the globe. I was very fortunate to be invited, and test out Activate for myself.
Activate is more than just a video game, it’s an experience. With a video game controller, you move a player on the screen, except with Activate you become that player. This gives you the ultimate challenge of running, jumping, climbing and strategizing as you move through each level and problem. The games, however, get harder and more difficult as you move on to each level.
Speaking of moving up, Activate has a live scoreboard of everyone playing alongside you. A wristband keeps track of every player’s progress and ranking. Their games are out of this world. Activate has 11 rooms and each room has about five or more games to choose from. You can select games that involve teamwork or compete against your teammates.
My favorites were Mega Grid, Mega Laser, and Hide. Mega Grid is a huge room with blue buttons along the walls and a light up, grid-like floor. The challenge was to not step on the red tiles while trying to touch and press the blue buttons and tiles.
Mega Laser was a large dark room, but when the game started green lasers began appearing from the left, right, top and bottom. The idea is to not touch the lasers as you try to get to the other side.
Finally, Hide is a room with a pillar in the center, with large, red light-up eyes on all four walls, and buttons with numbers above them. The goal of one of the games is to press the buttons from greatest to least without being seen by the eye. In every game you get a certain number of hearts. Not to worry, you can play the games as many times as you want in your purchased time. Just be mindful of other players.
Overall, I would give Activate Scottsdale 20 out of 10 stars! I would definitely recommend Activate for a special birthday, occasion or holiday. Activate is an amazing, active experience to have fun with friends and family.
